The meeting was called to order by club President, Denny Liddle. Guests were recognized and included our speaker, Mark Fairhurst. Treasurer Vic Meyers read a thank you note from the Jaycees acknowledging the receipt of our $300 donation to the 2016 Christmas Walk.  Denny Liddle announced the October Sgt at Arms will be Don Kaser. Selena Meyers said she has posted pictures of our club outing at the Akron Canton Food Bank and we will have another opportunity to volunteer after the first of the year.
 
MumFest reports:
  • Laura Thomas reported the initial offering of the Barbertonopoly games went well we will be setting up vendor sites around Barberton
  • Vic Meyers reported the net from the Tons of Taters sales was $4135. Proceeds for both will support the club
Ruth Kaser reported it is less than 30 days until our Reverse Raffle on October 20. We will need to give a head count to Guy's Party Center on October 6 for the food amounts. We will have a short meeting regarding ticket sales after our regular meeting. We need to be requesting items for our Silent Auction. The volunteer list has been drawn up and is online.
 
Our speaker was Mark Fairhurst. Mark is the Executive Director for Embracing Futures, Inc., a children's chariey whose core program provides orthodontic treatment for children from severe orthodontic and jaw miss-alignment problems.Mark shared the average age of the children treated is 13-1/2 -14 years old. He talked about the 3rd grade oral health program they do in classrooms that teaches correct tooth care and use of dental floss.
