Club meeting of October 13

The meeting was started with a presentation by Jim Stonkus, the President and CEO of the Barberton Community Foundation. Jim presented Denny Liddle with the Game Changer Award. The club also enjoyed cake.

 

Denny recognized our guests, including Keith Doyle from the Akron Rotary Club and Boy Scouts, and our speaker Jill Kolesar. Committee reports were given. Laura Thomas updated the club regarding Barbertonopoly sales. She indicated the game will be available at venues around Barberton. Tom Craig shared the club is live streaming our speaker presentations on the club Facebook Page. Club members are encouraged to like and share our page. 

 

Our speaker was Jill Kolesar, the CEO of the Akron Area YMCA. Jill was introduced by club member and Akron Area YMCA Senior VPresident of Development, Brian Bidlingmyer. Brian shared that Jill is also a Rotarian and a past president of the Cuyahoga Falls Rotary Club. She began as a volunteer and became the first female CEO in the history of the Akron YMCA.
