The meeting was called to order by club president, Tom Craig. Guests were recognized. Tom shared upcoming Rotary events: the District 6630 4 Way Test Speech Contest to be held on Saturday, April 2nd at Aurora HS. Tom said that due to prior commitments neither he or Shelly (our VP of Vocational Service), can accompany our club winner. We are in need of a club member to attend the District Contest. Interested members should contact Tom or Shelly for details.
Also, the Rotary Disctrict 6630 Conference will be held the weekend of April 22-24. We wil not have a club meeting on April 21st, our club meeting will be the District Conference. Rick Fisher shared news of the Service Above Self Awards we will be resuming for a Barberton Police and Fire person. The awards will be given at our May 19th meeting. Laura Thomas said the sales packs for Barbertonopoly are being prepared.
 
Our speaKer was Sarah Hays, the Local History Librarian at Barberton Public Library. Sarah talked about A.O. Austin- the electrical wizard. Mr. Austin, inventor, and engineering graduate was multi talented. He was an inventor, an electrical engineer, and had multiple patients. His first patent was in 1910. His company, AO Austin Inc was created in 1933. He was also a charter member of the Barberton Rotary Club.
