The meeting was called to order by club president, Denny Liddle. Guests were recognized and included our speakers Denice and Hannah from Junior Achievement. VP of Vocational Service, Shelly Habegger, shared news of the 4 Way Test Speech Contest. Prizes at the District level will be*: 1st place: $1200.00 2nd place: $850.00 3rd place: $750.00 Honorable Mention: $500.00 Honorable Mention: $500.00 *Students may be required to claim these awards on their taxes.  Clubs can sponsor ‘1’ student per school + ‘1’ home schooled student per club. Sponsorship Fee = $100/- per student (Fee covers cost of refreshments & lunch for 1 student, 2 parents and 1 Rotarian Representative) The District 6630 contest will be at Aurora HS on April 8. Regardless of the number of students a club sponsors, only 1 Rotarian will represent the club and he/she will serve as a contest judge or timer. Deadline to Register and Pay: Monday, April 3, 2017 .
 
Denice is Senior District Director with JA for Summit/Portage County. Hannah is the District Mgr of JA in Summit County. Denice shared some facts and volunteer information about JA. They now have programs for kids from K through 12th grade. JA has 3 pillars : personal finance, work readiness and entrepreneurship. The elementary school level has five 30-40 minute programs. Middle school has 6-8 lessons. High school has a focus on economics- financial literacy. JA of North Central Ohio had 24,600 students participating in 12 counties, 176 schools, with 848 volunteers and 1175 programs.
