The meeting was called to order by club president Nick Wladyczak. Guests were recognized and included our speaker, Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer, Chief Magistrate George Wertz, and Larry Okolish. Secretary Bruce May shared that Laura Thomas, owner of Spencer Tax Service has submitted an application for club membership. Nick reminded the club members of our upcoming social event on February 20 at Dusty's Landing. The club will be providing a main dish and members are asked to sign up to bring side dishes, appetizers or dessert. Ruth Kaser shared  news of an opportunity for music and dancing: The Akron Big Band, in which Don Kaser plays trombone, will be performing at the Bedford VFW Post 1082 on Saturday, February 21st from 7:30-9:30pm.
Don Kaser and Vic Myers spoke regarding the Barberton Library Levy. The levy committee is having a fund raising event at the Green Diamond Grille & Pub on Tuesday, February 24. Rotarian Juliane Bedel will be the speaker at next weeks meeting regarding the upcoming levy.
Carl Bako introduced our speaker, Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer and told of serving on the Citizens Advisory Council in 2013 with Larry Okolish. Judge Stormer discussed some of the programs offered by the Probate Court. She shared that there are over 200 programs that include the Help Desk, the Senior Visitor Program, Volunteer Guardian Program and Advanced Directives. Training is required and provided for the Senior Visitor Program, and the Volunteer Guardian Program and new volunteers are welcomed.In addition to a packet with some of the court programs the club members were given a worksheet for Personal Records and Important Documents. Judge Stormer discussed the importance of advanced directives, to not only complete the worksheet but share with family its existence and location.
