Club Meeting of February 18

The meeting was called to order by club president, Tom Craig. Guests were recognized and included our speaker- John Hallsten a product innovator. Tom shared that the planning for our golf outing to be held June 3 at Chippewa Golf Club is moving forward. We will be presenting Safety Awards to a member of the police & fire departments in April.

Our speaker was John Hallsten. John shared his journey as an engineer to product designer/developer and innovator. He and his partner,Jeff Russell, an IT expert from Copley Township, have created a magnetic audio jack called MAGZET. John shared the process of product developed How to help bring the invention to market, they launched a fundraising campaign at Kickstarter.com. A link also can be found at www.magzet.com, with additional product details. They set a goal of $294,000 by May 1; they have collected more than $122,000 in pledges to date. Although they did not reach their Kickstarter campaign goal they are using the knowledge obtained from the process to move forward with future products.
