The meeting was called to order by club president, Todd Wallace. Happy Dollars were collected and guests were recognized.  Todd reminded club members of our upcoming Golf Outing on June 6 and the opportunities for sponsorships. He also shared we want to limit the event to 32 foursomes. Foundation Chair, Brenda Farrell reminded club members she is still accepting donations to the Rotary Foundation for Every Rotarian Every Year.
Our speaker was Jim Shimko, the program director for the Boy Scouts of America. Jim spoke of opportunities for the Barberton Rotary Club with Manatoc Scout Reservation. He shared that Camp Manatoc had 61,000 camper nights last year with 3000 kids attending summer camp. Camp Manatoc has 102 buildings on the 400 acres of property, most of them being built in the 1930's. The camps annual maintenance budget of $77,000 is primarily used for maintenance of the cabins. Service organizations such as Rotary have an opportunity to assist by adopting a building on the property, such as the Trading Post. Adoption includes landscaping, interior and exterior painting, and or staining.
