Club meeting of April 10-our speaker Chris McKnight

The meeting was called to order by club president Todd Wallace. Happy Dollars were collected and birthdays recognized. Rotary Foundation Chair, Brenda Farrell reminded club members of our Every Rotarian Every Year donation due to the Rotary Foundation. Our club plans on having a local project this next Rotary year and the club members need to donate sufficient monies for our club to qualify to request a grant.

Our speaker was Chris McNight. Chris shared he is the Resource Development Director for United Way of Summit County. He helps businesses find ways to work with United Way. He indicated that in 2012 there were over 33.000 instances of services to Barberton people by United Way. Chris said that although the area has great need it is also very generous with donations. The Barberton Public Schools, for example raised more money per capita than any school system in Summit County.
