We had several visitors at our meeting. Our speaker Jim McKee arrived with our banner for this Rotary year 2016-2017 "R0tary Serving Humanity" as well as our member pins. He also brought a possible Rotarian as a guest. He was joined by Jack Harig who encouraged members to attend the Rotary Foundation Centennial Celebration in Cleveland in October. Candace Croner, the Rotary District 5510 Regional Coordinator was in town visiting her parents from Arizona.
 
Denny Liddle shared the Barbertonopoly games would be arriving the week of MumFest-and will be shipped from Michigan. The bulk of the games will be stored in Tim Brenner's warehouse. Denny will have about 60 at his office to be signed out for sales at various points around Barberton. Laura Thomas is heading up our MumFest table of the games. 
 
Denny also shared the hours of 4-6 pm on both Saturday and Sunday are severely understaffed. There is one person signed up for Saturday at 4-6 and 1.5 persons signed up for Sunday. The Sunday 4-6 volunteers are Don and Ruth Kaser. Due to Don's recent accident he has use of only one arm. 
 
Recent Board meeting items:
  • Vic Myers advised the club will again be supporting the Christmas Walk, with a $300 donation. 
  • Denny  talked about a local project involving the Salvation Army -to purchase 2 collapsible basketball hoops for their gym. The board pledged up to $1000 from the club towards this project. 
Our speaker was Jim Mckee- our District 6630 Governor. Jim talked about the Rotary Foundation, how it came into being as well as the power of Rotary towards good works in the world.
